When was cancun palace built

August — Palace Resorts — the company that sets the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations — is pleased to announce the creation of a new resort concept entitled The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun. The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun will take our concept to the next level by creating a world that transcends convention and expectations.

The premiere resort within a resort concept will provide fantastic, upgraded and spacious facilities that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. Transcendent Dining With more than eight new dining destinations, foodies and finicky diners will agree there is truly something for every palate at The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun. As with all Palace Resorts properties, The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun will feature only the finest, top-shelf liquors and premium-ingredient cuisine consisting of the highest quality standards.

In late-October , Hard Rock International announced that they were teaming up with Palace Resorts to rebrand several of the current Palace properties in Mexico. At this time, no official date has been announced, but some signs point to the change being made by mid-March.

Renovations are currently underway at Cancun Palac, and the hotel will remain open while all changes and upgrades are being made. The lobby will be remodeled, a Brazilian steakhouse will be added, and of course, several guest rooms will be converted to Hard Rock's signature Rock Star Suites, which will feature rock 'n roll memorabilia. The Puerto Vallarta resort is slated to begin operating as a Hard Rock Hotel in Spring , but the Riviera Maya property is not expected to make the switch until Fall All of the Hard Rock Hotels, in Mexico, will have an ongoing schedule of live concerts as well as celebrity parties.

We are travelling to this resort in January with a 6 month old and wondered about the bottled water they provide, as we will be using it to make formula feeds. Which brand is it and is it replenished daily in the room? Also do they provide a kettle in rooms? Many thanks. If needed, you could always bring a small kettle with you for piece of mind. Have a great time! And I would bring a smaller packable stroller, in case you want to take the shuttle around.

It will be easier to get in an out with a foldable stroller. Thanks for giving an in depth review of the resort. Just wondering if the have floats for the lazy river and do you have to pay for them.

Thanks for the great post. Just looking at all your pictures of the amazing food. Is all of it included? Even the fancy gelato bar? Do we need to pay for any food or special beverages in the resort? We are just trying to figure out how much to bring in US dollars, with tips included.

Did you tip the room attendants? Aside from tips, did your family spend in addition at the resort? It looks like our flight out on the last day does not leave until 5pm. I assume checkout is mid morning. Can you recommend some idea of what a family can do in the area until 5pm? Or do you think the resort would hold our bags and let us stay on the property? It is so great and helpful article. Looks like you have 2 pictures view from 3rd floor room.

What view is better, to garden or resort? Awesome review of the Moon Palace. Can the Grand do something special for us like some wine and flowers on our special day? Who can I contact? Thank you. Thanks for your review. I am planning a trip there with my family for Christmas Wondering if there is a kids club that is unparented where you can leave your kids for a while.

Also, do you have any info on how you get the diamond access? Is this the only higher priveldge club? Do you know what is included with that? Thanks again for everything! Also, how is that managed? Do you get a pager or phone or something incase they want their parents? Do you have any info on how you get the diamond access? For Diamond access I believe you need to be a member, or book through a member but were not entirely sure how it works. I would suggest you speak to Palace Resorts about Diamond Status.

This area is out by the pools. If you stay at the Grand, you have access to all three resorts. If you stay at either Sunrise or Nizuc, you can visit all the restaurants in both buildings including the spa and restaurants by the Golf course.

Thanks Nguyen! First of all, thank you SO much for this review. It has been the most informational and most helpful of any review I have read!! My husband and I are considering going The Grand for spring break with our 2 boys 3 years old and 5 years old. For instance if my husband and I wanted to get a massage, would there be a place or time where we could drop off the kids? Is there an extra charge? Thank you!!

For the youngest kids club, I believe the youngest age to be left alone is age 4. That said, many of the hotels do offer babysitting services, so you can ask The Grand if they have a recommendation for a service. Might sound stupid but I cant seem to figure it out.

Thank You for the great pictures! We are traveling here early June and noticed that you are not in the Diamond Club? At what time did you usually eat dinner for the non reservation restaurants and how long did you have to wait for? Can you share the more popular ones? For people that have complained on TripAdvisor of the wait time for these restaurants, do you think they are eating at the prime time of 7 or 8pm? When the Diamond Elites eat?

I did not see any pictures for JC Steakhouse in your review. Were you not able to get reservations? That was another complaint on TripAdvisor by non Diamond Elites.

No, we were not there for the Diamond Club. From memory, I think we normally ate between 5pm and 7pm. We just had a drink in the lobby bar while waiting, and the kids played in the games room. We loved Jade….

We just got back from this amazing resort! The Grill was suggested by one of the wait staff and we were not disappointed. Similar food to the Steakhouse, but no reservation required. I would suggest downloading their app. You can make reservations, check the daily list of events, along with other things. It was very helpful! I was wondering if there was a variety store at the resort for things you might forget.

Thanks Marilyn. Yes, they do have a store that had various items in it. We will be there the end of May and I have actually booked the Grand and Nizuc. I will cancel one of the reservations in the next couple of days. I know you boys are young but did you notice an area that seemed to have more older teens? With the waterslides and everything, we think you should book the Grand. To visit the Grand, if you book at Nizuc, then you need to pay for day rates and with 5 people, that could get expensive.

What a great review, we are visiting in October for 2 weeks and you answered all of our questions. Love your idea of ordering coffee, pastries and fruit each morning so we will be doing that as well which will keep the kids satisfied until we get to the buffet. Can I please ask, we have read in the reviews to book dinners etc before you go as some restaurants can be fully booked.

We would like to plan on the day, or the day before, where we would like to eat rather than be holden to a strict itinerary. Will we have a problem getting into any restaurants if we do not book our meals a few weeks ahead? However, if worried, it may be a good idea to book a few ahead of time. We also really liked Cusco. Our family is having a reunion in Dec.

We booked through Interval International. All I could get were studios. Can we get a studio with connecting doors to another studio?

What is cost for golf? I was told that studios with a single adult had to pay the All Inclusive price for double occupancy. No cost break for a group. Can you help us with the costs.? Hi anyone booking should check what events are going on.

The grand will be hosting many music festivals. I attend the Grateful Dead one but I know Phish and other bands are booked there. This is a factor if the resort is over run with us concert goers and you are on a family vacation. Thank you for such a wonderful review! So much valuable information and photos!

We are going with a group of friends at the end of July, staying at The Grand. With all the amenities it surely will have something for everyone. Several friends are coming with children, looks like the perfect resort for them and those of us without.

Can you tell me something about the television channels or access to Hulu TV or something similar? Sometimes even in paradise you want to chill in your room!

Hi was curious how they handled allergies. We are considering here for our family Trip. Allergies are a big concern for us. They asked us at each meal what allergies our son had. Our son has a dairy and egg allergy. Hi, thanks for your review. I wonder if you know if the beach has food and beverage service with waiters… thanks.

Your review was amazing! We are so excited about our trip now! My boys are ages 8 and Can they stay at the kids club alone while we go out to a formal dinner? Are there staff members to watch over the children? What would you recommend regarding a sitter for children these ages? Thanks for your help! Hi, thank you for your review. Had a fabulous time and could have stayed longer. The beach was perfect — no seaweed like our visit in July. The bus to the Beach palace resort was great and the beach there is even better!

Then we took the boat to Mexico and got a real taste of the city!! The shows were so so compared to cruise shows tho. Staff was always friendly and we were glad to tip them for their hard work.

Definitely recommend this resort and all it has to offer. Hi Patricia! Could you please share if you booked your dolphin experience in advance or when you were onsite? And was the water at the beach swim able or did you enjoy being in the sand?

Also — do not overpack!!! You will live in bathing suits and coverups for the most part! We are going in April with 4 and almost 6 year olds.

Loved this thread and feel really good about it. Wondering if anyone used resort babysitters to have a night out? Also, any advice on making specific room requests would be great.

It seems like you may have gone off peak time. Wondering how busy it is 2 years later during peak Spring Break! Nice overview. Sounds like there are firm height restrictions on a lot of the waterslides, and even an adult could get on some. Anyone know how many slides are available for toddlers? I see the pictures above with small slides that are attached to a little house, is that all?

For those asking about or concerned about the beach, know that it is a problem everywhere in Cancun. A fee for the shoes and socks? We were at the grand in dec for a week. We are going back feb Every thing i read on your post was dead on. Cov 19 did limit some events. But every thing that was open was very safe. Thanks for your review…. Comments I enjoyed your review and your pictures. Hi Rosalie, I would say that teenagers would really love this resort. Hope you have a great time! Yes — all of these photos were taken by us on our trip.

Thanks, Trevor. Hello and thank you for the incredible review, comments, and photos! And beautiful family! Foods were good, pastries were amazing. Hi Melissa, Thanks for your questions. I hope this helps. You will enjoy your stay. Thanks, Mitchel. We are glad you found the post helpful. Cathy St Louis, MO. Hi First of all, thank you for such a detailed, focussed, and amazing review. Wanted to get your thoughts Best Sarah. We hope you have fun! We would love to return.

Hi Lynn, Yes there are ocean view rooms, but my guess is they are likely more pricey and need to be specifically requested. Thanks for stopping by. Hi there, Thanks for the great post. Are tween kids safe to walk from the pool to the gaming area on their own? Are there any shops on the property, my kids love to bring trinkets back..

Or anything close by? Hi, Awesome review of the Moon Palace. Hi Erin, For Diamond access I believe you need to be a member, or book through a member but were not entirely sure how it works. Hope this helps.
