But I think you are beyond the point where it it has a huge emphasis. But there will be more zombies. I don't think it will be a huge issue for you from now on though. Once you leave the mansion you'll start encountering more dogs, spiders and hunters than anything else, so you won't need to carry the lighter with you as often You might still need it for a puzzle at the guardhouse.
You'll still bump into zombies every now and then, but the ones you do see are easily avoidable and you won't likely see them again if you kill them anyway. You might bump into quite a few at the labratory, but by that point you should be well equipped enough to either decapitate them or incinerate them with flame rounds. If you do have to kill a zombie you will have more than enough time to double back and get it before they turn.
